Professor Temidayo Oladiran AKINBOBOLA had his first Degree in Economics, at the University of Benin, Benin City. After a promising performance on graduation in 1991, he pursued, with unrivaled candour, his Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Economics, which he successfully completed at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1997 and 2003 respectively. He rose through the ranks to become a Professor in 2012 having joined the services of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife as a Graduate Assistant in September, 1994.

He has to his credit over seventy (70) Journal articles, eight (8) Contributions to Books and has attended several local and International Conferences. He was a recipient of the Small Grants Award for Thesis Writing, CODESRIA in 1995, he was granted a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the School of Economics and Finance, University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa (Pietermaritzburg Campus) in 2007 and has had a privilege of being granted the Obafemi Awolowo University Learned Conference Grant in 2001.

He also received the Meritorious Service Award of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife having served as Vice Dean in 2012. He has participated in several joint research projects sponsored by Fredrick Ebert Foundation, International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Canada, and Nigeria Heart Foundation.

He is a visiting Professor at the University of Kwazulu, Natal South Africa and currently an External Examiner to the University of Zululand, South Africa, North-West University, South Africa, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ara Ikeji, and Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Nigeria. He is also an Examiner to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), and Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB), Lagos. He was the Head of Department of Economics, O.A.U, Ile-Ife in between 2017 and 2020. He is currently the Dean at the College of Arts, Management and Social Sciences of the Chrisland University, Abeokuta. He was also a Member of the National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation Team for Economics in several Nigerian Universities. 

Professor Akinbobola was appointed as External Assessor for Readership/Professorial assessment of colleagues at the University of Lagos, Lagos; University of Nigeria, Nzukka; Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba; National Open University, Abuja; University of the Gambia (UTG) and several others to mention but few. He is currently a Member of the TETFUND Research and Development Standing Committee (RDSC) on Infrastructure Development Group and also an Affiliate of the Institute of Population and Developments Studies of the Lethbridge University, Alberta CANADA. He is happily married and blessed with Children.
