Chrisland University Hosts Gender Mobile Team for Training Workshop on Sexual Harassment Prevention
Chrisland University today welcomed the Gender Mobile Team to campus for the commencement of a sensitization and training workshop aimed at promoting a safer and more inclusive learning environment for both staff and students.
The Gender Mobile Team was received by the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Registrar, senior management staff, and other members of the University community. The visit marks the beginning of a collaborative effort to strengthen awareness, prevention, reporting, and response mechanisms regarding sexual harassment and sexual assault within the institution.
The workshop, facilitated by Gender Mobile in partnership with CampusPal, seeks to educate participants on recognizing, preventing, and appropriately responding to cases of sexual harassment. The training also introduces innovative digital tools that provide confidential channels for reporting incidents and accessing support services.
Speaking during the reception, the Vice Chancellor reaffirmed Chrisland University’s commitment to maintaining a secure and conducive academic environment where students and staff can thrive without fear of harassment, discrimination, or abuse. She’s noted that the training aligns with the institution’s core values of integrity, respect, and excellence.
The team lead Ms Omotunde Blessing says the workshop participants will be exposed to practical strategies for intervention, including the “4D” approach Direct Action, Distract, Delegate, and Delay which equips bystanders with safe and effective ways of responding to incidents of harassment.
Also, attendees will also learn about institutional policies, reporting procedures, and the use of the CampusPal application for case reporting, tracking, and survivor support.
The training is expected to engage a wide cross-section of the University community, fostering greater awareness and encouraging a culture of accountability, respect, and mutual support.
The management of Chrisland University expressed appreciation to the Gender Mobile Team for bringing the initiative to campus and expressed optimism that the workshop would further strengthen the University’s efforts in safeguarding the welfare and dignity of all members of its community.

CHRISLAND UNIVERSITY ACHIEVES NDPC CERTIFICATION, STRENGTHENS COMMITMENT TO DATA PROTECTION COMPLIANCE
Chrisland University has recorded another significant milestone in its pursuit of excellence and regulatory compliance as it successfully secured registration and whitelisting by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), in accordance with the provisions of the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA).
The University recently received its official NDPC Data Controller/Data Processor Registration Certificate, confirming its compliance with national data protection requirements and its commitment to safeguarding personal information entrusted to the institution.
The certification, issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, signifies that Chrisland University has met the necessary standards for data governance, privacy protection, and responsible handling of personal data. It further places the institution among organizations recognized for adhering to best practices in data protection and privacy management in Nigeria.
Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Oyedunni Sola Arulogun described the certification as a testament to Chrisland University's dedication to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and digital security in all its operations. The Management noted that the achievement reinforces the institution's commitment to protecting the personal information of students, staff, alumni, parents, and other stakeholders.
The successful registration and whitelisting by the NDPC also demonstrate the University's readiness to embrace global best practices in data privacy, ensuring that all data processing activities are carried out in accordance with legal and ethical requirements.

Chrisland University law students participate in the 13th Ogun State Bar and Bench Forum
Staff and students of the College of Law, Chrisland University participated in the 13th Ogun State Bar and Bench Forum held at the Ceremonial Court, Judiciary Complex, Kobape Road, Abeokuta.
The annual forum, themed “Digitalized Judiciary, AI, e-Affidavit, e-Filing and Virtual Hearing: Prospects and Challenges,” brought together distinguished members of the Bench and Bar, legal scholars, academics, and other stakeholders in the justice sector to examine the growing role of technology in judicial administration in Nigeria.
The event provided a valuable platform for the law students to engage with senior legal practitioners and judicial officers while gaining practical insights into emerging trends in the Nigerian legal system, particularly the integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence in the administration of justice.
The delegation from the College of Law was led by the Acting Dean, Dr. Kayode Akinsola, alongside the Sub-Dean, Mrs. Oluwafunmilayo Adeyanju, the Head of Department, Private and Property Law, Dr. Ibijoke Byron, Mr. Oluseyi Apampa, and Miss Opeyemi Adebari.
Students who represented the College at the forum included the President of the Law Students’ Society (LSS), Banjo Olaitan; the Chief Judge of the LSS, Rufai Progress; the Public Relations Officer of the LSS, Eunice Oguneko; Samuel Obehioye; Aremu-Sanbe Olanrewaju; Akintunde Jesutundun; Lawson Adetutu; and Energy Darasimi, all from the 400-level class.
The participation of the students and staff at the forum reflects the commitment of Chrisland University to exposing its students to practical legal experiences and contemporary developments shaping the future of the legal profession.

Chrisland University Secures NUC Accreditation for Mass Communication, International Relations and Law
Chrisland University, Abeokuta, has achieved a major academic milestone again following the approval of accreditation for its Mass Communication and International Relations and Diplomacy programmes, alongside accreditation for its Law programme by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The accreditation was granted after a comprehensive assessment by the NUC, which evaluated the university’s academic standards, staffing, infrastructure, and curriculum. The accreditation status confirms that the Mass Communication, International Relations and Diplomacy and Law programmes have met the commission’s benchmark minimum academic standards’
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyedunni Sola Arulogun who made the announcement noted that the recognition reflects years of strategic investment in human capital development, learning facilities, and curriculum advancement. She appreciated the Board of Trustees for their commitment and dedication to the growth and advancement of the Institution. She also commended management and members of staff for their dedication and commitment to the success of the exercise. She further described the outcome as a testament to its unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.
According to the Vice Chancellor, the accreditation exercise is a peer review mechanism aimed at ensuring quality assurance in all sphere of academic delivery.
Founded in 2015, Chrisland University has continued to expand its programmes while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The latest accreditation results are expected to boost the confidence of parents, students and relevant stakeholders, as well as enhance graduate employability, and further position the university as a center for academic excellence.

The Professor Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i Prize is awarded in honour of Nigeria’s first female Minister of Education.
