The Department of Criminolgy and Security Studies is domiciled in the College of Arts, Management and Social Sciences, Chrisland University, Abeokuta. It was one of the first programmes that started with the commencement of the university in 2015. The Department enrolled one of the first set of students in the university. Initially, Criminology and Security Studies was combined wth Psychology department due to the fewness of students' enrollment then.

The following year, the Department grew to stand on it's own havinig enrolled the largest number of students in the university for two consecutive sessions/years, a feat she promises to maintain with a team of committed and dedicated staff poised to move the programme forward and support the university organization in several ways. 

Philosophy and Mission of the Department

The philosophy and mission statement underlying the programme of the college of Arts, Management and Social Science is to produce graduates imbued with the ability to understand and make contribution to the development of Nigeria and the global Community. This is to be achieved by equipping them with a broad foundation in the general field of Arts, Management and Social Scinecs as well as specialized knowledge in a particular discipline there in; prepare them to meet the human resources needs is a developing society and develop in them entrepreneurial knowledge, with a sense of public responsibilty and a spirit of self-reliance.
