Admission into the Department of English, Chrisland University can be by two modes, either the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE). The requirements are stated below:

UTME Admission: Candidates for admission into the degree programme in the Department of English in Chrisland University must possess a Senior School Certificate, National Examination Council or their equivalent with at least five credit passes including English Language, Literature in English and any three Arts and/or Social Science subjects in not more than two sittings.
Direct Entry: Candidates must have obtained five credit passes at one sitting or six credit passes at two sittings at the 'O' Level/Senior Secondary Certificate (WAEC, NECO, etc.). Such credits must include English Language, Literature in English, any three subjects from the Arts and/or Social Sciences. In addition, candidates must possess either of the following:
