Admission Requirements
Admission into the Department of English, Chrisland University can be by two modes, either the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE). The requirements are stated below:

UTME Admission: Candidates for admission into the degree programme in the Department of English in Chrisland University must possess a Senior School Certificate, National Examination Council or their equivalent with at least five credit passes including English Language, Literature in English and any three Arts and/or Social Science subjects in not more than two sittings.
Direct Entry: Candidates must have obtained five credit passes at one sitting or six credit passes at two sittings at the 'O' Level/Senior Secondary Certificate (WAEC, NECO, etc.). Such credits must include English Language, Literature in English, any three subjects from the Arts and/or Social Sciences. In addition, candidates must possess either of the following:
- Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from any recognized institution in English and any related combination with a final grade not lower than Merit
- OND in relevant disciplines, with at least Upper Credit Grade
- HND in relevant disciplines with at least lower credit
- Two A’ Level passes in relevant subjects including English Literature in CAMBRIDGE A' Level, JUPEB, IJMB and GCE A' Level.
