Welcome to the Bachelor of Science in International Relations and Diplomacy at Chrisland University. This program is designed for aspiring global leaders and diplomats who seek to understand complex international systems and engage in constructive international relations. Our curriculum combines theoretical foundations with practical experiences to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing global landscape.
The programme will offer courses leading to the awards of a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations and Diplomacy and set students on the path of becoming well rounded graduates ready for the twenty first century. The courses to be offered are developed to meet the National Universities Commission (NUC) benchmark minimum academic standard and the present Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards for the Nigerian University System. Some of these courses include: French Language Proficiency; Africans in Diaspora; Logics and Methods of Research in International Relations; Technology, Ecology and Environmental issues in International Relations; Human Rights; Foreign Policy; Theories of International Relations; International Economic Relations; International Financial Institutions and Developing Countries; Nigerian Government and Politics, among other courses.
The students are also opportune to mix frequently with practitioners in the field of International Relations through facility visits, lectures, seminars and jointly organized conferences in the Department.
Graduates of the B.Sc. International Relations and Diplomacy are well-prepared for careers in:
Admission into the BSc. International Relations & Diplomacy programme in Chrisland University is by two modes; the UTME and Direct Entry. The requirements for each is as stated below:
1. UTME Admission: Candidates for admission into the four year degree programme in International Relations & Diplomacy should possess a Senior Secondary School Certificates of Education, National Examination Council or their equivalent with at least five credit passes including Mathematics, English Language and Economics at not more than two sittings.
2. Direct Entry: Candidates for Direct Entry admission shall possess five credit passes in the following;
(a) Senior Secondary School Certificates, General Certificate of Education, National Examination Council or their equivalent including English Language and Mathematics of which at least two shall be at the Advanced level or four credit passes of which at least three shall be at the Advanced level provided that such passes are not counted at both level of the examinations.
(b) OND in relevant discipline with at least upper credit grade in addition to the five credit passes as in 2(a) above.
(c) HND in relevant discipline with at least lower credit in addition to five credit passes in 2(a) above.
